Preschool provides an imaginative and creative learning environment for children from the ages of 3-5 years.
Preschool children have direct access to the separate learning room providing children with a rich learning environment to aid each child’s development. The children will learn advance techniques such as Jolly Phonics system to develop language and literacy skills and is consistent with the methods and techniques used in schools.
Preschool comprises of “Lower Preschool” and “Upper Preschool”. Upper preschool children are in their final year at nursery and are prepared for their transitions to school. Both Preschool Class’s benefit from their own direct access to the garden/ play area with climbing frame, slide and swings, obstacle course and sand ship ‘Feathers Galleon’ for hours of imaginative play. Rainy weather does not mean that children stay indoors as we also have a covered outdoor area where outdoor activities can still take place even in in most inclement weather!
Our preschool team is headed by Chantelle,Hannah and Mel who are all level 3 qualified nursery practitioners. Hannah is currently undergoing her level 5 in childcare. The preschool room leaders are overseen by Leanne who is a level 5 qualified practitioner and is the nursery’s Senior Practitioner. Michaela, Kiera,Claudia and Laura make up the team in preschool.
Preschool children are also provided with the opportunity to engage in swimming lessons at a local pool, engage in football activities by and a football teacher/ coach, who comes into nursery to encourage children’s physical development, balance, spacial awareness and motor skills in a fun filled way!We also have a dance teacher who works with preschool children to promote movement to music, coordination and balance.
