Well done to Emma and Naomi for once again achieving 5 stars following our recent Food Hygiene inspection. We are very proud of the standards achieved and maintained by the kitchen staff and the standard and variety of food produced by the team. We all put a great deal of time and effort in ensuring meals are healthy, well balanced and tasty for the children.
In addition, our kitchen staff, in particular Naomi, continue to run fabulous baking classes with the children which are very well received and enjoyed by the children. They particularly enjoy taking their produce home with them at the end of the day! So far we have made cakes, biscuits, pizza and more recently we have made cheese and garlic swirls and talked about flavours,textures, sweet and sour flavours and healthy eating.
The baking classes also provide an excellent learning opportunity for the children as they learn about weights and measurements as part of the classes. We will continue to run these classes throughout the year and we are sure the children will bring home some very creative produce. Preschool staff are also planning to create recipes with the children to take home with a view to baking some of the produce at home.
